The Best Start for Kids Ceremonial bill signing was held at El Centro de la Raza on September 27, 2016. King County Executive Dow Constantine was joined by County Councilmembers Jeanne Kohl-Welles, Joe McDermott, Rod Dembowski and Larry Gossett, Advisory Board members, along with parents and children.
Best Starts for Kids is an initiative to invest money for safe and healthy development of children, youth, families, and communities. Priorities are prenatal support and supporting the teenage years to improve the overall health and well-being of King County. The levy will only cost the average King County property owner about one dollar per week, or $56 per year. Read more about this bill here.
