Raise Up Washington!
As we head into the last three weeks before Election Day, we wanted to update our community supporters on Initiative 1433. Along with endorsements from organizations across the state, and a new endorsement from The Seattle Times, polling shows strong support from Washington voters to raise the minimum wage and allow all workers to earn paid sick & safe leave.
But in order to make sure that we win a raise and paid sick leave for workers, we need to mobilize our supporters to vote! So many of our supporters have told us they’re turning out to vote for the first time in years because of how important Initiative 1433 is to them. Have you registered to vote? The deadline to register online passed, but you can still register in-person by Oct. 31! You can find a local office to register in-person here.
Ballots are beginning to arrive in voters’ mailboxes at the end of this week, and we need to make sure we’re on the phones and knocking on doors, making sure our folks know when and how to vote YES on 1433. Can you join in this effort? We’re seeking volunteers to phone bank and knock on doors for the last 20 days before the election. Please call Kate at our office at (206) 709-1313 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer. Together, we’ll turn out voters for a historic initiative to raise up Washington’s workers.
