I sing this song with pride to that man called Roberto Maestas friend of the poor he adored them he fought for their rights throughout this nation
He was born in San Agustin del Valle humble town close to Las Vegas he suffered injustice and horrible discrimination as a kid he was expelled for speaking Spanish.
His mother died when he was very young his father couldn’t stand it and abandoned them he had to accept a hard life and started working at the age of 14.
People asked him when did they cross the border to this great nation and he always emphasized determinedly we did not cross the border crossed us.
He loved books and studying seeking justice for humanity beside the 4 friends for social change he knew the people united would succeed.
Life is good and hard and Roberto said we need to admit we must learn from everything stand up with dignity and honor for our children for a better world.
