El Centro de la Raza seeks to promote self-sufficiency and empowerment through bilingual education, asset building and skill building initiatives.

Tax Preparation Site

Provides free, bilingual tax filing assistance to the community from January – April as a United Way Tax Preparation Site.

Financial Empowerment

We provide comprehensive, culturally competent education and counseling services to individuals seeking homeownership, homeowners, renters, victims of foreclosure, and those who wish to have a better grasp and understanding of their finances. This includes information on how to improve credit, reduce debt, increase savings and become banked. In addition to personalized, one-on-one financial and credit counseling, we also offer Lending Circles, a secure, interest-free loan to build and establish credit. We work to strengthen the capacity of Latino families to manage and augment their household finances and credit to ameliorate the effects of debt and poor financial management, as well as with small businesses in our Building Opportunities Center.

Life Skills & Job Readiness Education
