Celebrating Teacher Appreication Week:
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! This week, we proudly celebrated the extraordinary educators at our José Martí Child Development Center (JMCDC)—the heart of our early learning programs. With care, compassion, and deep cultural understanding, our teachers nurture over 500 children across five sites, guiding them through critical stages of growth and development. From Plaza Roberto Maestas in Beacon Hill, to Hirabayashi Place in the International District, Cedar Crossing in Roosevelt, Beacon Pacific Village—which now welcomes 144 new students across seven classrooms—and soon, the Four Amigos site in Columbia City, JMCDC continues to expand while remaining rooted in community since 1972. Through our bilingual, bicultural curriculum, JMCDC teachers empower children ages 15 months to 5 years with cultural pride, confidence, and school readiness, fostering well-rounded development in mind, body, and spirit. To all our JMCDC teachers: thank you for shaping young minds and building a just, joyful future—one child at a time. Your work is the foundation of a brighter tomorrow. ¡Gracias!
