A Conversation with Luis A. Miranda Jr., Author of RELENTLESS: My Story of the Latino Spirit That Is Transforming America

June 11 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Please join us on Tuesday, June 11th at 2:30 PM in El Centro de la Raza’s Centilia Cultural Center (1660 S Plaza Roberto Maestas Festival ST, Seattle, WA 98144) as we welcome Luis A. Miranda Jr., founding partner of the MirRam Group, founding president of the Hispanic Federation, and chairperson of the Latino Victory Fund, Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance, Viva Broadway and The Public Theater in conversation with renowned journalist Enrique Cerna discussing family bonds, politics, advocacy, and Miranda’s recently released memoir, RELENTLESS: My Story of the Latino Spirit That Is Transforming America.

In RELENTLESS, Miranda shares the poignant narrative of his life and career—from his early days as a radically-minded Puerto Rican activist, to his decades of political advice and problem-solving. Amid the triumphs, challenges, and ongoing hard work, Miranda examines what his experience reveals about our ever-changing politics and democracy, demographics, and society.

Debunking the myth of the monolithic “Latino voter,” Miranda underscores the pivotal role voters of Latin descent will play in the 2024 election, and outlines the path to effectively harness their voices. Anticipating the Latino population to be 1 in 4 by the year 2060, RELENTLESS stands as a crucial asset, aiming to spotlight the unwavering spirit of this community. Through the perspective of Luis A. Miranda Jr., witness the story of a man dedicated to advocating for his family, community, and Latinos’ place in this country.  All of Miranda’s proceeds from the sale of RELENTLESS will go to The Miranda Family Fund.

The program will begin at 2:30pm and Luis and Enrique will be joined on stage by Simon Rosenberg, political strategist, author, and commentator who has become a leading expert in Latino voting behavior, and local Seattle activist deeply engaged in getting out the vote, Stone Gossard, rhythm guitarist and co-founder of Pearl Jam and Loosegroove Records. Immediately following the on-stage conversation, Mr. Miranda will be participating in a book signing and books will be available for purchase
