La Cocina Cooking Class con Chef Garzón (Bad Chancla)

Turn pantry staples into comfort food with heart. Join us on March 15th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for a hands-on cooking class with Bad Chancla, where you’ll learn how to make white rice, guisada beans, savory picadillo ground beef, and a bright salsa criolla using everyday ingredients.
This class will also cover quick pickling, hybrid cooking (using both canned and fresh vegetables), and smart ways to stretch and elevate your pantry essentials, no fancy tools or ingredients required; just an apron if you have one! We will provide all the ingredients and there will be time at the end of the class to enjoy the delicious meal we create.
All proceeds support our Senior Program, which provides healthy meals, a welcoming space, and social activities for elders Monday through Friday. Come cook, learn practical skills, and give back to our community, all in one delicious night!

It is our first autonomous store.
In the past we’ve had stayed very close to tradition. Representation has been a huge deal for us when developing concepts for pop ups and events. With BAD CHANCLA we are taking it one day at a time. This menu represents the struggle of an immigrant growing up on tradition and adapting to life in the USA. It has anything from ROPA VIEJA RICE BOWLS, PUERTO RICAN, DOMINICAN & MIAMI inspired SANDOS to HUEVOS CON WINNIES QUESADILLAS.
