Our Cooking Classes are a fundraiser for our senior program. Classes are usually 10-20 people and held in the evenings and on weekends. All funds raised through La Cocina Cooking Classes benefit El Centro de la Raza’s Senior Nutrition Wellness Program. If you would like to make a donation to the program, please click here.

Can children attend classes?
Children are welcome to attend classes with you present to supervise them. If the child will be participating in the class then we do ask that you purchase a ticket for them.
how long are the cooking classes?
It depends on the type of dish in the class, so please check the individual class times. Tamale making classes are 2.5 hours while mole making classes are typically 3-4 hours long, for example.
What language is used during the class?
Classes are held in English with some Spanish used at times.
